AmSECT & IBBM Announce New Adult ECMO Specialist Certification Exam (CES-A)
The American Society of ExtraCorporeal Technology (AmSECT) and the International Board of Blood Management (IBBM) are pleased to announce the first Adult ECMO Specialist Certification Exam. The exam is intended for RNs, RRTs, and other allied health professionals monitoring adult ECMO procedures and circuits.
The CES-A Exam was offered for the first time at the AmSECT 58th International Conference in St. Louis, MO, March 5 and March 8, and will be offered three more times online in 2021.
The next sitting for the CES-A Exam will be May 12- May 14, 2021.
2021 PBMT, PBMS, & CES-A Exam Dates
These dates apply for the Perioperative Blood Management Technologist, Patient Blood Management Specialist, and ECMO Specialist Exams. Applicants can only take one exam per testing period.

For individuals who sat for the PBMT certification exam after June 2020, Certification is currently valid through March 31, 2022.
For all individuals who sat for the PBMS exam after November 2018, Certification is currently valid through March 31, 2021.
